Administration intern

Work description THE FINNISH INSTITUTE IN THE UK AND IRELAND is looking for an administration intern for 5-6 months, from beginning of 2021 (dates are negotiable).

The Finnish Institute is an expert on Finnish culture and society, working in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. The Institute supports the internationalisation of Finnish contemporary art and helps artists, researchers and social and cultural actors to create international networks. The Institute builds partnerships between Irish, British and Finnish organisations. We do this by identifying signals of change in the fields of art, culture and society and supporting new perspectives to contemporary issues. The Institute encourages cross-disciplinary and cross-border collaboration by creating networks and building new partnerships.

The intern will work in collaboration with the Institute’s director and Finnish accounting company. Typical tasks include managing invoices in Visma Fivaldi and other financial tasks, organizing board and other meeting materials, assisting the Director and program staff and managing daily internal office routines. Many tasks require precision. We value initiative, teamwork, flexibility and organisational skills. Excellent skills in business administration, Finnish and English are essential.

The selected intern must be able to secure funding for the internship him/herself. Previous interns have secured funding for example through their universities or the employment office (työkokeilu). The Institute is unable to accept interns without a source of funding. The Institute will, however, support the internship by covering the costs of preferred means of transport to the office (public transport zones 1-2, cycling). Also, there’s an option to rent a room via the Institute.

Due to the Covid-19 situation it is possible that part of the work happens remotely.

The application must include a CV and a motivation letter in English, stating why you are interested in an internship at the Institute. These should be sent by 5.11.2020 to admin@fininst.uk. Please note that we accept applications by email only.

If you have any further questions, please email them to emilie.gardberg@fininst.uk.
