Arkkeo is an app which turns payment cards into universal reward cards. The app automatically tracks customer purchase behavior and incentivizes customers to make frequent purchases. Arkkeo is looking for a startup minded (Junior) Software Developer to join their passionate team! You will develop further a mobile app for the consumers, a web dashboard for business clients as well as a dashboard for Arkkeo’s internal use. In addition to developing new functions for these applications, your tasks may be related to gamifying the mobile app, for example. As a special case when starting this job, you will work also for a short web development project that Arkkeo’s team delivers for its partner company. In general, your tasks are versatile, including the entire stack from frontend to backend. You will work especially with React Native and React but also with Java/Spring and AWS.

In this role, you will get to see the results of your work and how your solutions affect customer behaviour. You are involved in all phases of Arkkeo’s agile product development process. Together with the small team, you will plan and figure out the best solutions to build the applications. You will work closely with and get support from a senior developer, so this is an excellent chance to develop your skills and become a true software development professional! Later on you may end up working with new interesting areas, e.g. data processing, analyzing and optimizing consumer behaviour, or artificial intelligence, depending on your interests and skills.

Arkkeo is looking for a developer who has good skills in JavaScript and at least some experience of taking responsibility in developing a functioning application (preferably with React Native or other JS frameworks) from scratch at work or as a hobby/school project. Arkkeo’s team works in an agile way and wants to test new ideas quickly and learn what works and what does not. The atmosphere at Arkkeo is relaxed but they share a passion for what they do and work hard for their goals. The company is looking for a person who shares that mindset. To succeed in this role, you don’t have to be the complete package right away – your drive and motivation to learn and become an expert in what you do will take you far!

We look for:

-Proactive attitude and good problem solving skills
-Good skills in JavaScript and at least some evidence of building a functioning application with it (e.g. from internships, hobby or school projects)
-Fluency in English

We consider as advantage:

-Prior experience with React Native, React or other modern JavaScript frameworks
-Relevant educational background (e.g. computer science)
-Skills in Java/Spring and interest in backend development
