Business Finland is now looking for a full time, fixed-term (8 months) Market & Trends Research Trainee with a hands-on attitude, an eye for details and a proactive mindset. Working in Business Finland’s Visit Finland team offers you an excellent chance to start your career and work closely with the dynamic Finnish tourism export and business environments.

Instruction:
With Visit Finland, you participate in helping Finnish travel and tourism companies grow their international business and strengthen their competitiveness. This position offers interesting opportunities to increase understanding about the potential and challenges of the Finnish travel industry.
Your role

You will get an opportunity to work in a fast-moving and truly global organization, offering you a unique view on international markets and business environments. When working at Business Finland’s Visit Finland team, you will meet colleagues and partners from all over the world from many different companies and organizations.

In this position, your job tasks include the following:

- Implementation of knowledge management roadmap for Finnish travel industry
- Market research, analyzing market trends and signals
- Increasing understanding of changes in consumer behavior with analytical tools
- Process market information on tourism to be used by Visit Finland marketing, sales promotion and product development
- Acquiring knowledge from domestic and international databases
- Analyzing, combining and reporting research findings
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and Business Finland’s customer

Your tasks will vary from small ad-hoc analyses to being a team member in large development projects.

What we expect from you:

- Relevant educational background from university or university of applied sciences (e.g. International Business, Information and Service Management, Economics)
- An eye for detail, understanding of visuals and keen interest in statistics and research. Previous experience and/or interest towards qualitative research methods considered as a big asset
- Good skills in Microsoft Office -tools, especially with Excel and PowerPoint
- You are socially at ease in a multicultural environment
- Fluent communication skills in English and in Finnish. Other languages are seen as an advantage
- Previous experience and/or interest towards traveling industry and its trends is considered as a big asset

You are a persistent person who gets excited and shows passion for what you do. You are a self-guided person who helps others and listens to colleagues. You have a “can-and-will-do” attitude, thrive on challenges, and are not afraid of tackling problems. Good organization skills, curiosity and eagerness to solve problems and a pinch of social intelligence will get you a long way with us.
